The new year is always an opportunity to take stock of things we did in the year gone by and to plan (if we can do that) for the year ahead.
As an organisation Anubhuti has come a long way. From the modest start we made in 1999 and the time we really took off in 2009 at Patiyali (the birth place of great Ameer Khusrau) we have touched people's hearts by our relentless crusade to address the issues of those on the margins.
In 2014 we were able to coach 100 odd students for the police recruitment exam. More than a score of them have reached the final stage and are awaiting the results. We are hopeful that many of them would finally get selected and that would make the youth of the area believe that merit matters and recruitment is not all about bribes and corruption.
We have added another course to our NCPUL (National Centre for the Promotion of Urdu Language) centre at Patiyali. The course on Hardware and electronic gadgets will open new avenues for the youth of our area.
The series of health camps in the far flung areas of Katari continues. We were once again able to enlist the support of Mahavir Eye foundation for the special eye camps. Because of their support we have been able to get free surgeries of cataract done for many people from Katari area.
Our efforts to motivate young students through career counselling, Quiz, debates and distribution of Manorama Year book to the meritorious are getting better by the year. OMR sheets for the quiz and transparent evaluation, attractive prizes and the award of Ameer Khusrau Fellowship have resulted in huge participation. What started as an activity for 300 odd students, today witnesses a participation of more than 2000 students. And all this is being done free of cost!
The birth place of Ameer Khusrau had been missing an event in his memory for many years. 2014 witnessed the successful hosting of an All India Kavi Sammelan & Mushaira at Patiyali. Anubhuti takes pride in the fact that poets like Rahat Indori and Som Thakur could turn up for the event to make it memorable.
The little structure we are trying to put up at Daheli Buzurg village near Sidhpura is also taking shape now. Although we have missed the target dates and that is why we could not host the Delhi School of Social Work students there, we are inching ahead to realise a place where the young can assemble and prepare for competitive exams.
Thank you all for making things happen!
Looking forward to a great year ahead with you.
Team Anubhuti
